Project Description
The idea is to develop a cell phone screensaver/ application. The application will be developed using Macromedia Flash, specifically Flash Lite 2. The working features of the application will include pulling of local weather, news headlines, and sports. I will be developing specifically for Clemson University, my Alma Matter, and where I live. I will utilize Flash animation and vector image functionality to enhance the interface and loading of graphics. I will keep adding features as I can. The primary goal will be to developing a functioning screen, which is unique, beautiful, and loads quickly. I will be developing for a Nokia 6682, the movie will function natively over the web, but I will provide a video or the application working on the cell phone.
Project Objectives
The project will achieve several objectives. However the overall goal is to develop an efficient news application built in Flash to run on a cell phone.
- Develop an efficient news portal application for cell phone (news, events, weather).
- Create a unique, custom one-off interface that explores the capabilities of Flash development on cell phones.
- Analyze the pros and cons of Flash development for cell phones.
- Furnish a fully working application and demonstrations of its functionality.
